What can I say?

So, I am going to invite you to use your imagination as I tell you a short story about the past few days. It all began Thursday afternoon at around 2:00 pm, in a land far far away.....

A little white van was driving around town with a mommy, a daddy, and 2 little boys inside. As the little white van went to make a left turn, a boy on a skateboard lost control of his wheels. Before any one knew what was happening, a big THUD was heard. The mommy looked outside of her window and saw a young man, typical skater boy, "leap" to his feet and run to get his board. Rolling down the window and staring at the young skater, the mommy asked him if he was alright. The skater boy insisted that he was okay and heavily limped as he went to retrieve his board from the other side of the street. The daddy also rolled down his window to ask if the skater boy was okay, and again was greeted with a (un)reassuring, "I'm okay. Just fine. Nothing is wrong!" In complete shock at the fact that their van had just been hit by a human being, the mommy and daddy and two little boys continued on their way, but not before the older little boy shouted out the window, "You should watch where you are going!"
Upon arriving at their destination the mommy and daddy decided that they should take a look at the van, just to be sure it wasn't hurt, considering the sizeable limp of the unknown skater boy. What they found can be seen above(because I am too tired to rearrange the blog post)

Impressed with the impact made by unknown skater the mommy and daddy decided to call the insurance company and see just how much it would cost to fix the minor dent. Can you guess? $1500.00. Needless to say, the mommy and daddy were greatly impressed with the impact that the skater boy had had upon the little white van, and remembered to tuck this little story away for later, when they would try to help their children understand a science lesson involving potential and kinetic energies.


A LITTLE LATER IN THE WEEK:

Upon being asked to go brush his teeth, the little boy who had offered his advice (albeit a little late) to the skater boy, decided that the daddy's razor needed to be washed with toothpaste. Using his thumb as a washrag, the little boy quickly discovered that what he was attempting to do (albeit extremely helpful) was probably a really bad idea. At least it resulted in some one on one time with the daddy, even if it was in the emergency room.

So as not to concern our readers, the little boy is perfectly fine. No stitches were required, just a pressure bandage to be worn over night. The cut did knick the dermis, but was mainly on the epidermis, so there was nothing to "Stitch" back together (luckily). The little boy came home busting at the seams with pride over his new "BumbleBee" bandage, claiming that he was now one of the Transformers, and a devoted follower of Optimus Prime.

The mommy - well besides the fact that she now has a daughter participating in extracirricular activites 4 out of the 5 workdays, is working part time, trying to potty train the littlest brother, and stay awake long enough to read 500 pages of homework every other day - is doing perfectly fine. (unless that tick that has mysteriously developed decides to stay.....)
